Running Buddies

Aidan and I have found a trail to run on while we wait for the girls to get out of school. It gets easier each time and we have fun challenging each other. Plus it means he doesn't have to do his homework with me! That definitely makes him happy.

Whoa! Clearly I have been off the blogging radar. Here's a bit of catching up on the last week and then some. Sorry!
101/365
The girls and I (plus some friends) went to Guemes Island for two days and made it there in time for a quick beach explore before dinner.

102/365
Leia practiced her balance beam work she has been learning in gymnastics class.

103/365
On the way home from Guemes we stopped to celebrate Claire's 3rd birthday. Woohoo!

104/365
Car sleeping. Comfy, no?

105/365
A day at the arboretum with (most) of the Scrivner's. It was a great fall day for a hike along the bridges.

106/365
Sounder's win the U.S. Open Cup!!!! Awesome night to be at a game.

107/365
SO excited about her new swim suit from Gigi.

108/365
Hanging with Uncle Chuck and using tomatillos as an educational tool. Counting, color identification, sorting....

I will make a better attempt this week to blog regularly. =)

Clearly I have gotten lazy and have a bit of catching up to do so....here we go....

It's blurry but someone little fingers altered our calendar and decided we are "Going on Vacation" on Aug 31st. I wonder where we will go.

65/365
Concentrating on Cariboo.

66/365
There's nothing like pink twirling tutus in the morning.

67/365
Mastering a sandy balance beam at the park. Gymnastics class can't start soon enough.

68/365
Reliving her glory days when she fit in an exersaucer. I was reliving the days when I could contain her.

69/365
Reenacting Titanic at the Children's Museum.

70/365
She figured out how to make the frog squirt on purpose. It was a big hit.

71/365
A little cotton candy refueling during intermission at the Circus.

72/365
This slide was super fast, even my stomach dropped going down. Kate did it over, and over, and over..

It was a busy day at Jetty Island in Everett. The kids were patient waiting for our turn on the ferry and enjoyed each others company while on the island. It finally felt like we spent a lazy summer day at the beach.

Halloween

We pulled bits and pieces from the dress up bin to create a Tinkerbell costume for Kate. Leia got the hand-me-down Dalmation outfit, and Aidan was proud to sport a Superman costume. It took Kate and Aidan and hour to trick-or-treat in our little neighborhood. They got just enough candy, exercise, and cold air to make the experience enjoyable and end without tears. Everyone was glad to get back inside for some warm dinner.

Kate testing her wings.

What's a cowboy without a dog?

This guy with the giant pumpkin head was a big hit. The kids didn't know how to react but Scott convinced them he was a good guy and to take his candy. Hooray for people who still appreciate Halloween!

Piano Lessons

We spent an evening at Oma and Opa's house. Aidan and Kate decided to get musically creative on the piano. It was nice to see two toddlers not banging or pounding just to make noise but enjoying the sounds of the piano.

Meet Leia

Leia Hope has been a happy addition to our family for almost two weeks now. She is pretty mellow but it is doubtful that will last, she has quite the active big sister to inspire her. Leia does however love to cuddle and hopefully that will not change.
Kate has taken to her new role as big sister with fervor. She loves to help out and wants to be near Leia as much as possible. She is already very protective and makes sure Leia has everything she needs to be content.
We have had lots of visitors and are looking forward to more. Having a baby is a great reason to get together with people we don't get to see very often. Thanks for all the food, support, and diaper changes!!!
Here are some pictures of our first two weeks:

Daddy and his girls.

Music class is a family activity now.

Kisses for Kate and Aidan
