Well I made it 157 days of posting a photo each day. Somewhere along the line 2 weeks ago I dropped the ball and couldn't regain momentum. I am disappointed not to complete this mission but it was flawed.
Not so far into the project I realized I missed blogging just to blog. It felt like overkill to post a picture and then post about our adventures and happenings. I was also a bit disappointed that 99% of the photos were of the girls (though not surprised). It was hard to see so little of Scott and I being us in the photos.
The last few weeks have been non stop and I am grateful for the nap I took today instead of trying to catch up on photos. I am releasing myself from "guilt for not posting" by abandoning the project.
Here is a quick photo recap of the last few weeks:

Leia trying her hardest to get closer to the computer while I was listening to a track from a friend's band called Mankind. Good drums, can't blame her interest.

Can't say I expected this:
But who expects a mermaid and Mulan to run through the pile of leaves in the backyard?

Our meals this week have revolved around this cookbook. So far I have tried: Chicken with Dijon Vin Blanc Sauce, Blueberry Crepes, Moroccan Lentil Salad, Chicken with Black Beans and Tomatillo Salsa, and Grilled Chipotle Pork. Tonight is Chicken with Capers and Tomatoes.

Leia is napping, I'm washing dishes, and Kate is coloring quietly at the table....or so I think. As I turn off the dishwater I realize the house is eerily quiet. I call out for Kate, in response I get a stern "Don't check on me!" coming from the bathroom. Alright, I can respect privacy. When she yells out the same statement again I realize she is being sneaky about something and doesn't want me to know. I wait patiently for her to emerge from the bathroom. This is what greeted me:

Not to mention her legs and feet. She told me she wanted to look like the cheerleaders at the football game we went to Friday. They had face tattoos. She was on the verge of tears knowing she had been naughty and anticipating punishment. I cut her some slack and used it as a teaching moment. Now I am off to invest in face tattoos.
